So its been a few months huh? We've been preparing for a couple of up coming shows:
Little Buffalo Arts Festival
October 3rd
Little Buffalo State Park
Noon- Dusk
Old Home Foliage Days
October 17-18
Port Royal Fair Grounds
We've also been working on some custom orders and generally building our inventory. We're working toward purchasing a new kiln so everything we've been selling has been going to that fund. We're really looking forward to new equipment so that firing can be less labor intensive, and our glazes come out more consistently. Hopefully we can also look forward to experimenting with higher temperature glazes such as crystallines.
Todd is also working with some friends on a wood firing project so that should be fun, maybe we'll break into a whole new addition to the inventory! So come check out what we have at the upcoming shows, there are definitely some new things to come have a look at- and as always art shows offer great gift ideas! Support your local starving artists!
** If you're planning to order some custom work for the gift-giving season, please have your order to us by Thanksgiving so that we can be sure to have it done in time.**

New Venue
Things continue to be a little slow for us at Wildfire Pottery but they haven't stopped yet!! We have a new venue for you to check out our stuff. We have collaborated with Jenny Landis to display our work in her booth at the Dairyland Gift Shop/ Artist Co-op in Reedsville. Jenny does some awesome soft sculpture work with fibers. So take a Wednesday morning off, check out the markets in Bellville and on your way back check out the great stuff at Dairy Land!

It Has Been a While.....
To anyone who visits us regularly here, I know it has been a while since the last post. There was not much to report on over the last 4-5 months. With the festivals/fair season underway more will be notable in the upcoming months. One big note is regarding the Mifflin-Juniata Arts Festival which took place this past weekend(16th & 17th). It was a great weekend, except the little bit of rain, but what festival doesn't have some moisture. Sunday there were some sudden winds that caused some nearby artisans to shutter when they heard a set of shelves crashing to the ground sending pottery across the grass. Luckily only 3 pieces were damaged and they were not the best of our show pieces so no harm really. The studio was awarded the 'Best of Clay' award this year, competing against 5 other clay artisans. Also we got our first taste of Raku. There were two small vases included in the Raku demonstration that came out quite nicely.
No other scheduled events at this point, but we are searching for a few to fill out our summer season....
